The setting I guess. If you notice the 3 MC in the series I translate are the big shots. You don’t fuck with them without serious consequence and they got quite the say in setting the course of the world. As for Basara and Akatsuki, they seemed a little low in the food chain with many people above them. They often got played by the situation or people stronger or more influential than them and only react to that without really that much say in the affair of the big fishes.
So to summarize, I loved big shot influential characters and that’s the kind of story I would translate. It’s not that I don’t like hagure and shinmai, I just don’t like them enough that I would work hard to translate them.

I would say Basara is a big shot. While not the strongest character in his series he’s still more of an Alpha than Kizuna is when it comes to pleasuring his harem, at least in imo.

How about in term of achievement? I only read until he is looked down by some guy from the moderate party or something, after that I only read the ero scene and skip everything else. Has he ever done something big since then? Defeating some big bad guy, or getting authority, or something?

He’s defeated one of the strongest demons on the Demon Lord’s faction, in volume 3, and the Demon Lord himself, later in volume 7. He also subjugated Chisato, who’s a God, which gives him a serious power up. Next volume he will have sex with Mio, the main heroine, which will possibly make him one of the strongest characters in the series.

nothing was ever said about him getting a power up via sex with Mio, which the author never specifically stated to happen next volume. implied sure… but honestly he already fucked chisato anyways and that actually nerfed him as he can only use banashing shift with chisato at the moment.
@baka, power wise, it is implied that both shiba is a monster that is on basara’s dad level or higher, mean while basara himself is still off from reaching his dad. influence wise, he’s just a neutral third party stuck between the the demon faction and the gods faction’s scrimages. basara is powerful but not really a shot caller for anybody outside of him harem.
also, the reason the previous translators aren’t touching shinmai atm is thanks to commission trans hiding their shit behind a paywall and being entitled halfwits who think they have right to make money off shit that isn’t theirs. i’ll support yen press b4 i give in to that shit, and i hate yen press lol

if you mean to say he didn’t have sex with chisato because he didn’t break her hymen, that’s such an insignifigant thing to contest. he stuck his dick in, end of story.
as for this afterward, post a link to the text for baka to confirm that. what mio apparently says contradicts her losing wilberts power after ‘becoming an adult’. while yes she does get stronger from a deeper bond, basara doesn’t as the whole point of the contract is strengthening the haremettes.

i myself dont think the scene was all that crazy, but slightly is still technically sticking it in. if chisato herself now refers to herself as his sex slave after the encounter, she clearly didn’t care how far he stuck it in, which is the only thing that matters here.

In vol.9 Basara himself says that though she’s is sex slave they can’t have sex because of their Contract, which is why they do other things. I will say it is a form of sex what they do, like bj, titjob, etc. but not sexual intercourse. They confirm she’s a virgin so it wouldn’t be fair to say he’s no longer one. The sex slave line is more of him stating his dominance over her than her actually being his sex slave for sex

Well the translator is taking time out of their day to translate this stuff so why not charge for their hard work. After checking the blog I don’t think you have the right to complain considering the person said you get all the content even if you contribute 1 dollar, that’s just being cheap.

said translator is entitled to nothing. it’s not his work, he didn’t write it, he doesn’t own a copyright for it, he has no right to charge money for a work that is not his. it’s not about the size of the contribution, no amount of time put in (and less face it for most fantrans that just MTL it up, it cant be that much) entitles someone to any sum of money that isn’t going to the author, which is essentially money stolen from his pocket. and being so entitled to said commission work to the point of withholding it from the people who were already translating the series months before said individual decided to take advantage of peoples impatience reeks of millennial entitlement. nevermind what could be as small as 1 dollar per contributor amounts to a significant enough amount of yen the author could use via exchange rate.
you wont to make money, get a job. dont sell other peoples IP and act like you have a right to anything. this is the stuff that makes kadokawa suits double down on DMCA’ing the shit out of fantrans as whole.

neutral with a side of “muh peace”. basara himself has little influence. chisato, jin and even Mio are a different story. the demon lord he beat was already a good guy so all basara really did was make the guy job.

Basara is really Alpha when it comes to his harem. I personally find Kizuna pretty Beta, considering it seems he’s quicker to orgasm than his harem is. Also the whole core dildo thing never really connected with me. I would much rather see him use his dick. That’s why I like the machine God’s scenes more than the main girl’s scenes. I feel that HxH author gets inspiration from the SMNK one. This is all just my opinion though and I’m not saying he does for a fact

The battle scene is the best that I have ever read and the story is also good. If only it’s a harem then I’ll translate it without question. Too bad I don’t really like Stella, she is a good character, but as the solo heroine, meh.
