I always thought that barbarino name was zarnaldelli just like that Italian prime minister, considering many names in this novel had Italian or Hispanic feels on it.

I love that this author, unlike many others, does take care in naming his characters and uses real names instead of just looking at his kitchen cabinet, fridge, or bar.
